Brilliant to see a fantastic turn out for the last Cork BHAA race of the year, Turkey Trot 5k. Always a race with a twist as the 1st across the line may not be the winner. The winner is the person who’s finishing time is closest to their predicted time.
The event is also used as a fundraiser for Cork Simon and an incredible €3750 was raised by the 260 entries, congratulations to everyone who took part on the morning.
To add to the excitement of the morning there was a presentation to Jerry Forde who finished his 500th marathon recently, this was so deserved as Jerry has been a massive supporter of the Cork BHAA and also is a true legend of Cork running community. Congratulations Jerry.

Note from Cork BHAA:
The results of the Cork Simon Turkey Trot from this morning are now available in Excel / PDF. We had a great turnout of over 260 entries on a wet December morning. We even had a few runners who did the Cloyne 4k race at 9.30am and then joined in our race too! Well done to all and thank you for your generous donations. Cork BHAA were able to hand over €3,750 to Cork Simon thanks to you.
There was also a celebration after to mark Jerry Forde’s 500 marathons. What an inspiration to us all! Well done Jerry.
