From here\, slot left into the wood on “Lemmings” single track . Hairpin left \,then more steep downhill double track running before turning hairpin right for more level ground. Turn left past a natural reservoir into single track woods and meandering through the “Pine Needles” trail\, then left again for a short distance before slotting right towards “Queens Drive” From here \, the fun starts with a nice steady uphill before turning left into the woods to ascend “Murphs Trail”. Nice 200m lung buster in the middle of this and then a lovely mossy downhill through a stream and right onto “Mossy Farm” double track which continues right and carries you back towards Killegy Lodge again. Continue back the way you came\, up the hill but this time turn right and next left to climb “Bombholes”. Another wee lung buster. SUMMARY:Run Clare Spanish Point 5mile race
DESCRIPTION:Run Clare\, Border Half & Summer Solstice 5 to 10 challenge! \nEveryone on the Run Clare committee is dedicated to running\, we all love it! We have all been involved in the sport one way or another for most of our lives. We live it and breathe it. One sunny day in 2014 we had the brain wave of encouraging everyone to share our passion for the sport and created our amazing series. \n  \nWe have listened to feedback and decided to make a couple of changes to keep the series fresh and exciting! We are delighted to announce that we will be moving locations to new areas of the Banner County… \n  \nThe 5k will be in Lisdoonvarna on Saturday the 28th January\, it’ll be a great way to start the journey around the country lanes. The 5 mile will take us to Spanish Point on Sunday the 19th of February\, where the route will take close to the Atlantic\, then to Ennis for the Eamon Moloney 10k on Saturday the 25th of March\, where the urban location is known for its family atmosphere and fast\, flat route. Finally we are heading to East Clare for the 10 mile on Sunday the 9th of April. \nSign up here: https://eventgen.ie/run-clare—the-5-to-10-challenge-2021?fbclid=IwAR1U3DA7AxDiiSHp44DA6aA219ROnAyky_8kZAWvuWfYvm50cfXO7W_RIQU \n  \nFinishers prizes to be announced in the coming weeks!. \n  \nWe all start together but we may not all finish together\,  what matters is that we all have achieved something incredible as an individual. \n  \nWhere else would you get 4 races over 4 months with all the trimmings you know we do?? In 2019 we had over a 1000 runners from 24 counties sign up for the series\, lets get the whole of Ireland coming to Clare and prove that the Banner know about races! \n  \n4 races. 4 months. 1 goal. \n  \nDates and times of certain events may be subject to change at the organizers discretion \n  \nBespoke finishers medals for the 10k and series finishers. Free tech tops for the first 400 10k entrants. \n
