Mayo \n \nOpen to everyone to run\, jog or walk \nOfficially measured course \nLicense is granted by Athletics Ireland in conjunction with Westport Athletics Club.  \nThe races will be chipped timed this year. \nThe race will then start and finish at Jack’s Old Cottage\, Derrycooraune\, Islandeady at 10am sharp on Saturday August 5th. From there participants will run in a clockwise direction around a 5km route ending back at Jack’s Cottage. Those entering the 10km event must cover the route a second time. \nParking will be available adjacent to Jack’s Cottage. \nParticipants will be able to collect their race number in Jack’s Cottage from 8am until 9.30am on the morning of race day. Race briefing will be at 9.45am. \nRefreshments will be served after. \nThis year\, the monies raised will be donated to the Islandeady Community Council Development Fund and Islandeady GAA in memory of Jessica Needham\, formerly of Lismolin\, Islandeady. \nEntry is €15 per adult (plus booking fee) and under 16s are free when you book online. (Register Here)  \nOnline registration closes on Friday at 12 noon \nOn the day registration is €20 per adult. DESCRIPTION:7:30 pm\, Friday\, July 21st\, 2023 \nDonadea Forest\, Co. Kildare \nTaking part on a 5k loop on the grounds of the Donadea Forest in Co. Kildare\, Donadea Running Club and their sponsor Croí Laighean Credit Union present the Donadea 10K and 5K. \nBoth races start at 19:30 sharp. \nBoth races are chip-timed \nCar park barriers will be open from 18:30 to 19:30. Anyone driving into the forest park before 18:30 or after 19:30 may be liable to pay the car park entry fee of €5 by tapping a debit card at the entrance barrier. \nThe start and finish lines are located in front of the Castle area in Donadea Forest Park. The course is a loop of the forest area so the finish line is located in roughly the same place as start line. \nThe entirety of the race is run within the grounds of the forest consisting of 1 loop for the 5K and 2 loops for the 10K. The forest is open to the public so be aware there may be other walkers on the route. There will be one water station on route. There will also be bins in this area for rubbish disposable. Please do not drop rubbish at any other points in the forest. \nPacers will be provided for the 10K event for 45 minutes\, 50 minutes\, 55 minutes and 1 hour. There are no pacers for the 5K event. \nThis event has an AAI permit \nThe event is a fundraiser for Donadea Running Club and all proceeds will be used to develop the club further and assist us in bringing more events such as this to the local area to encourage fitness and well-being. \nRegistration: \n5K: €20 \n10K: €25 \nTo register online <click here>. Registration will be open from 18.00 pm until 19.15 pm on the night. \nThe collection of participants race numbers will take place on the evening of the event. A registration tent for both online and on night (if available) entries will be situated directly across from the castle in Donadea Forest Park and will be clearly marked. \nYour entry fee includes your Race Entry\, Timing Chip\, Water and Banana at finish line\, and a medal for the first 250 entrants.
